How Apply Sharp handles the information you share.
Who is responsible for your data
Apply Sharp is a product of Amy Makes Digital, a UK sole trader business, which is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. What you share
Apply Sharp works with the text you paste or upload: your CV, the job description, and any additional skills and experience you choose to add.
Remove unnecessary sensitive data
Please remove anything the tool does not need — for example your home address, National Insurance number, date of birth, health information, or referee contact details. Only include the professional experience needed to tailor your application.
How your text is processed
The text you supply is sent to a third-party AI model provider to generate your optimised CV, cover letter, match analysis and interview preparation points. Processing happens when you press the optimise button and when a PDF needs to be read by AI.
Your results
Results are shown in your browser for the current session. We do not save your CV, job advert text or generated results after the request completes, and there is no saved application history, so if you close or reset the page you will need to run the optimisation again. Please download or copy anything you want to keep.
Accounts and sign-in
To buy or use a pass you sign in with your email address. There is no password: we email you a secure sign-in link. We store your email address and a record of your passes (which pass, when it starts and ends, and how many optimisations you have used) so your access works on any device you sign in on. This account data is held in our hosted database for as long as your account exists.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor (Amy Makes Digital remains the seller). Stripe collects and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy — Apply Sharp never sees or stores your card details. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the pass purchased, and a payment reference, which we store against your account so we can activate and support your pass.
Abuse prevention
To prevent automated misuse we store a one-way (hashed) value derived from your network address and browser for the free example demonstration, and a timestamp for each successful optimisation on a pass. These records cannot be used to reconstruct your address or browser and are used only for rate limiting and fair use.
Review before you use anything
AI output can be wrong. You are responsible for checking every name, date, employer, qualification and claim before sending your application to an employer.
